The physicians at OB/GYN Associates of Alabama provide assistance and support to parents as they teach their daughters about making good choices about healthcare. The American Medical Association and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology have set forth “The Guidelines for Adolescent Preventitive Services (GAPS)” which are designed to:
- Advocate safety and injury prevention, physical fitness, healthy eating habits and healthy sexual adjustment of teenage girls.
- Help young women and parents deal with the issue of drugs, alcohol, smoking and learning problems.
- Help identify risk behaviors and address these concerns within the context of a doctor/patient relationship.
